Viswanathan Anand is undisputed world chess champion

Anand won the World Chess Championship 2007 held from September 12 to 30 in the Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel in Mexico City. He finished undefeated with 9.0 points out of a possible 14.Kramnik (8.0) beat Aronian (6.0) to move to second place ahead of Boris Gelfand (8.0) on tie-break [Sonneborn-Berger tie-break system or 'SB score' ( A player's SB score is calculated by adding the sum of the conventional scores of the players they have defeated to half the sum of the conventional scores of those they have drawn against ) was applied ]. The tournament was a double round robin for eight players. Prize fund : US $1.3 million.
