Introduction - What is Winamp?
Winamp (www.winamp.com) as you are aware is the best and most popular media player world wide.Almost all PC users throughout the world use it because they find a wide range of options in this media player. Most popular among them being its various skins, in both classical and modern or free forms, made by winamp skinners who have over the years contributed immensely in making winamp as the most popular media player.Winamp lovers have lots of beautiful skins of their choice to download and install which is not found or are very limited in other media players and because of this reason, winamp stands above all.
My Skins
Winamp has two versions - classical and modern or free form.I personally like the classical one as it offers better scopes of integrating with nature, the beauty of earth.I have upgraded my skins to a category which I describe as one of the best winamp skins ever made.Don't believe me.Download my skins, install them and see for yourself, judge them, compare with skins made by others in this category.
Below are flash slideshow of "skinshots" (my term for screenshot of skins) of a few of my winamp skins on "Art & Culture". Want to see an album of more skinshots? Click >> H E R E <<
How TO?
To see my skins, you need to have winamp installed. If you don't have one, download it from its site mentioned under "Introduction" above and install it and choose the classical installation option.
After downloading my skins ( They are zip files but with a wsz extension. Some servers automatically change the default wsz extension to zip extension after they are uploaded and in this case you need to change the extension to its default one, i.e. change, say, one.zip to one.wsz ), you need to save them in the 'skins' folder ( after changing the extension, not necessary if the extension is wsz, as mentioned above or you can do the changes inside the skins folder itself ) of winamp directory under the Drive where you installed winamp.Normally, it is C:\Program Files\winamp\skins.
Run winamp and keeping it active, press 'Alt' + 'S' in your keyboard. The winamp preferences window pops up.If you have saved my skins in the appropriate ('skins' folder of winamp) folder you will see all of my skins files in the central frame of this pop up window. If you don't see them, click 'skins' under the scrollable menu on the left. The skins come up in the central frame.Just click a skin and see that the face of your winamp immediately changes. You don't need to click everytime to see different skins after each song.It can be done automatically if you 'check' the "Random skin on play" check box on top right of the winamp preferences window.Having done this, close the window.Add songs to winamp, play them and enjoy my skins.
Every skin has its own skin information like the name and address of author, source of the image used, etc under the scrollable "Current skin information" which lies just below the central frame of the winamp prferences window.Scroll down to see the complete information.
Oh! Don't forget to send your comments. They are very precious to me. You can download some of my classical version of winamp skins from the two links given below.
The following sites have published some ( almost 100 altogether) of my skins, the first being a Swedish wallpaper site and the next one a French site, famous for its high quality wallpapers.
